NEVER WASTE YOUR TIME
Hazrat Shafiq Umm-i- Balkhi (R.A) and Hazrat Ibrahim Adham (R.A) were friends. Once Hazrat Shafiq came to Hazrat Ibrahim & said “I am going on a business journey and it could take many months so I thought to meet you before going there”.
Few days after this meeting, Hazrat Ibrahim Adham (R.A) saw Hazrat Shafiq Balkhi (R.A) in the mosque. He asked him, “How you came back so early from your journey?” Hazrat Balkhi replied “In journey I reached at an uninhabited place and stayed there. There I saw a sparrow that could not fly. I felt pity for her & thought how on such a place this sparrow could find food for living. In the meanwhile when I was thinking about this situation, another sparrow appeared there, she had something in her mouth. She landed near the disabled sparrow and dropped food in front of her. The disabled sparrow ate that.
By seeing this I thought, Subhan Allah, when Allah can provide this sparrow with food than why I need to visit one place and another in search of living. So I decided to end my journey there and came back”
After hearing this Hazrat Ibrahim (R.A) said “Shafiq, you liked to be a disabled bird? Why you did not think to be like the bird that does not only feed himself but give food to needful also.”
By hearing this Sfaiq Balkhi kissed Adham’s hand and said “Abu Is’haq, you have opened my eyes, whatever you said is absolutely right.”
Few days after this meeting, Hazrat Ibrahim Adham (R.A) saw Hazrat Shafiq Balkhi (R.A) in the mosque.
